This Post is titled "My Weekend".

Actually not in the mood to post, so will prob just fill this page with full of pics, and let them tell the story.

Sat was NCHS Shine in Harmony fiesta, where students paraded their wares and showed their "marketing" strategies and sold their "sales pitch"...which was nothing much more than screaming and shouting in ur ears and repeatedly getting unsuspecting "victims" to buy. It was fun, and the students needed the hustle and bustle to shake off the post common tests blues.

This is just a very very very small portion of what i bought. A substantial amount went into my stomach, and a pretty huge portion i gave away to other students. I mean, its all for a good cause, so im not feelin the pinch....yet.

I rushed off for my Poly Classmates Gathering shortly after the fiesta, which was located at Queenstown. Gosh it was a pretty hot day. Thank God for the creation of cab. The get-together was simple and fun, jus a small grp of 4 of us chit-chatting and playing with Janet's (one of my classmate's) baby boy skye. Here's a pic of him ransacking my wallet. Apparently he is picky about the wallets he go thru...i guess he has good taste?

Sunday: My Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2009.

I had a terrific sweat out, and a major sense of achievement. 5km was nothing much to me in the past, considering i used to compete and complete 42km marathons in a day. Due to injuries, sicknesses and fractures, i had stopped runnin and competing for 4 yrs...so imagine how nervous i was when i took my 1st step to complete this short marathon. I didnt ask any frds along cos i didnt want pple to know my failure if i didnt manage to complete this lil challenge. Plugged into my earphones, i ran and stopped only to take pics of various landmarks and interestin scenes. I call this..."phototaking run" a partial success. I had not much confidence cos i had stopped training a couple of weeks ago due to muscle cramps and spasms (i am guessin i overtrained...), and was pretty sure i was gonna be in trouble. All in all. im thankful that my mental capacity pushed me thru. I like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. Without u, i would not have completed this race. This includes the lil NCHS monsters. Thank you. Every single tag u left behind, every word in the tributes and cards helped push me thru. Thank you.

Lookin fwd to Yellow Prison Run 2010~!~

Spent the morning witnessing the lower sec's teacher's day performance. videos of the dance performance (as requested by the dancers) will be uploaded into youtube soon.

I recieved quite a few items today, from different students. I am guessing its not the end. so im gonna consolidate everything into one post entry when im done. So don't worry, i still intend to give thanks to all the "tributes" later.

I was nv a fan of any Principal's speech. Be it frm Pri Sch, to Sec Sch, even when i moved on to my tertiary education (re: they were named deans)....all except Mr Winston Hodge. He was our Principal during our final years in St Gabes. He was a huge Caucasian, with a tummy that we joked "could bounce us frm serangoon all the way to johor"....but how we all loved him for his leadership and his understanding. He nv put on airs, he was very direct and honest, and most importantly, he supported us even when we were wrong. It is no wonder he was promoted and offered the post of being a Principal in Raffles Junior College.

And when Mr Ong was talking paying his tributes to teachers, one line suddenly reminded me what Mr Hodge once said before. That teachers all leave an impact in our lives, and be it good or bad, that we students, all unknowingly strive to surpass the benchmarks the teachers left on us.

Using this chance, I wanna thank 3 "teachers" who inspired and shaped me into who i am today.

Mr Goh Sher Wee. I know u still read my blog. I just want you to know that you were more than my accounts lecturer. You were my friend, and I now know what u meant when you said i "wasnt designed for accountancy". You were right. Thank you for training me to "think outside the box", and for rubbing off on me, your confidence and sense of humour in class.

Mr Stanislaus Tan. You were my A-Maths teacher, E-Maths teacher, counselor and more importantly, my pillar of strength. When no one else had belief and faith in me that I would pass my O levels, it was you that pushed me, and becos of u, i aced my O's. Thank you.

Mr Winston Hodge. You were not a teacher in the actual aspect, but the lessons you taught us outside class were gems. Sir, as my Principal, I am glad that you taught us to nv look down on others, and treat everyone equally. It was your lectures on us, that we should all look out for one another, that i now pass on to my students as well. Surpassing you would be a challenge, but pushing myself to forgive offending students, and still opening myself to help them...that is something i will build on.

I suddenly miss my Sec School Song.

St Gabes Sch Song (as best as i can remember)

In white and blue, boys full of mirth and life
From early morn, we flood the green playground
In every hall, soon starts the daily strife
Of school routine, lessons and work all round
With spirits bright, our will we'll gladly bracing
From teachers kind we learn what's good and right
We thus do hope to attain with God's blessing
Virtue and Truth, Virtue and Truth
Of life's true beacon light

Saint Gabriel's School Dear
Here willing hearts behold
When duty's call rings clear
'Mid sorrows as through joys
For Singapore and God
For justice to uphold
Let us live and thus prove
Saint Gabriel's boys

Crazy hectic day. Had to rush out stuff for GKW, then make corrections because there were mistakes, and in the end submitted a plain (hopefully correct) version up. Hope its ok by him. Here's a look~support your school's participation of YOG 2010 yah?

https://ncelz.nanchiauhigh.moe.edu.sg/C9/Youth%20Olympic%20Games/default...

Had to rush out for Mdm R to convert her files into mp3 and burning them into CDs, not to mention helping out random students with different stuff (crazy day, so much to do. its like suddenly, everyone wanted to do something on the same day). I suddenly wished i could shadow clone myself. Am bushed out. No inspiration to write. Brain juice all used up, Legs all weak.

Oh btw, NCHS cyberfair team. Congrats! We got gold! If not for your research, emails, content and encouragement, this would not have been a success. Congrats again~!! Dedicate this post to my Sec 1s E and F:

1) Rui Yuan
2) Say Hao
3) Shao Lun
4) Kevin
5) Kelvin
6) Marilyn (btw, happy belated bday)
7) Rachel
8) Hui E

Leg in pain. Argh. Was perpetually limpin to sch today. Had to put on a brave (and sometimes smiley face) while travelling and upon reachin school.

Have a long day ahead. One invigilation, 2 classes back to back, and not being mentally prepared for any sudden situations...can only be glad that ive been heading home punctually these few days. *breathes sigh of relief*

Finally received and uploaded songs recorded at L's studio. Being coerced(re: threatened) into trying something new, L's only reasonable excuse was that i needed to try different musical directions. There is only so much a guitar can do. So with the help of his Yamaha keyboard and FL Studio to make the beat, as well as his Cool Edit Pro + Autotune record/edit the vocals, they finally had me sounding like...Sean Kingston.

Ridiculous.

My fave part of the song? the rap.

My heart is burning baby burning with fire
I'm left all alone with no desire
To move on with my life I'm so tired
Of dealin with these mind games, cheaters and liars
In the past words were said and I never would doubt you
Took time but now I know I'm better without you
Of who lost my trust I can count you out too
You're so vain I bet you think this song is about you

Time to go.

This is a really outdated post, and since i couldnt find any nice pics to go along with my post, i decided to use the above pic to follow the "movie" theme.

Finally watched "UP", and even managed to catch it in 3D. I guess the money was well spent. A lil costly, but hey, for my 1st 3D film (yes, i finally decided to catch a film in 3D only cos i believed the animated balloons in 3D and full color), it was well worth it. The film itself was an adventure on its own, but its heart-tuggin storyline and uniqueness in landscape design...i thoroughly enjoyed the short time in the cinema.

I also managed to catch "the proposal". This was a typical rom-com by hollywood. Wat was interestin was its age pairing - Sandra Bullock looked so much older (and is older) than Ryan Reynolds, and not to mention the sarcastic humour evident thruout the show that made it watchable.

Now getting ready for upcoming show:

G-Force!!!

***of missed opportunites***

today's weather is a lil depressing, so i guess i should take a breather and let some memories flood back.

there was a long time ago, when a boy liked a gal. she was the only gal who could make his heart skip a beat, make his dull world fill up with colours, and...you get the picture. But there was a simple problem.

he was overweight. Like serious overweight. at his worst, he must have weighed a whopping 97kg. with his size as a serious issue, there was no way any gal would have accepted him. yet he just wanted to be a frd with unwavering support. there was no need for a status or physical contact. he was contented with just being there, as a passenger and as a supporting cast.

imagine this going on for many years. imagine the bittersweet moments that had gone on during this time, and the opportunities the guy had let slipped by, just becos he had no confidence to do so, or perhaps he just didnt want to rock the boat and spoil the friendship. but he was really happy during that period of time. that was truly....a moment of magic.

but all good things must come to an end. she is now happily attached, and the guy is happy for her. perhaps all the experiences and feelings he had during that magical period helped shape and mould into who he is now. for it werent for her, there wouldnt be a him now. he wouldnt be...wat he is now.

regrets are part and parcel of life, we all will have a handful of regrets as we move on in life. wats most impt is that we have courage to at least try. when we give up once, a thousand successes die quietly. but if we at least try, a thousand opportunities open up for success.

so dun give up. even if the class test or common test depresses u, cheer up. pick urself up, and move on. We all have wat it takes to succeed. its up to us to find the strength for it.

A special thanks to the Sec 4s from the Video Club for rushing and completing the video on time despite the changes in the schedule. I doubt they read my blog, but heck, i give credits whenever they are due.

Special Special thanks to Miss Alyssa Teo for making time during her recess break and coming to our rescue when our combined efforts to correct the video was not working. Your suggestions and tips for transitions were not wasted. thank you so much.

For my Sec 1C students, thank you for tolerating my blurness today. I screwed up earlier during class, and i apologise for not being alert enuff to spot my mistakes. U deserved better from me.

For my 1A students, i apologise for making u wait an entire lesson. Thank you for using ur initiative and moving into the room and not waiting outside. I appreciate it lots. I am also sorry for being slow in rep[yin most of ur queries due to my bad ankle. Will make it up to u by replacing that lost time for u.

As for my 1I kids, I apologise for screaming and shouting at ur sec 2I seniors during class time. The school is coming down hard on students loitering around corridors and not in class. By law, if u are not in class during the alloted timeslot, its known as truancy, and the school has harsh rules on that. I know some of them are your friends, and some of them are mine too, but when it comes to work and discipline, if I have to be harsh, i will be harsh.

As for my 3 sec 2I kids....i already explained to u why i went berserk when u all started hanging outside my lab when u have no business doin there. The school has given me strict guidelines to follow, and i have no choice but to enforce them. I will still laugh and joke whenever possible with u all, and still keep an eye for u if u get into trouble. But the moment u cross that line, i will not hesitate to do what i did just now. If you plan to start a "hate" campaign, pls do so. I am no stranger to that, and i in fact am used to it. My skin is thick enough for most hurtful words.

Sprained ankle early this morning while headin to work. Limped a lil, but made it worse while rushin down when a teacher requested help for the correction/editting of a video for the Chinese Guests. Had to limp around the school and looking after my classes while waiting for the transfer of data to my HDD. Didnt help when i had that lil incident with my 2i kids afta that. I will always feel bad when im nasty and fierce to the students (be it current or former), but rules are rules. I know the name callings are gonna start soon, but heck. Nobody told me the job would be easy anyway. Apparently my voice is loud. Students from other labs could hear me. Wow. Now thats scary.

Finally burnt the 2 DVDs and breathe a sigh of relief. My nerves (and ankle) were not made for these shocks.

Can i not come for lessons tmr? PLs pls pls?
